Negotiating a Mutually Agreeable Resolution
In some circumstances, it may be possible to resolve your complaint by reaching an agreement that meets the needs of both you and the respondent (e.g. Head of School, other nominated decision maker or person delegated with the responsibility for dealing with the matter).
Once your appeal has been submitted, Student Affairs will assess whether there is an opportunity for this to occur. This may involve talking to both you and the respondent about the options available to you.
Any proposed mutually agreeable resolution must be approved by the Manager, Student Affairs, Division of Academic and Student Engagement.
When a mutually agreeable resolution is achieved, the appeal comes to a close.
If a mutually agreeable resolution cannot be achieved, the appeal is referred to the Student Complaint Appeals Committee for determination.
