Using headings
Text formatting
Headings and other text formatting for content on the University web site are
available as a range of common HTML tags defined in the global
style sheets. They are designed to preserve the consistent look and feel of
webpages within the University site. These elements are rendered as shown below
in pages using the global style sheets:

Explicit formatting
Explicit formatting can cause unexpected results, and so formatting options
other than those listed in the table above should be avoided, that is, avoid using
font tags to change the font used, the font size and the font colour. These extra
font tags are incompatible with the University styles and will not be applied
to the text when the page is displayed. They may also interfere with any heading
styles applied to the text, causing the text to appear without any of the formatting
applied.
