Regional pathway opportunities

University pathways in regional South Australia

Across Mount Gambier, Whyalla, Port Lincoln and Ceduna, Adelaide University is creating opportunities for regional students to engage with higher education at every stage of their educational journey.

Through a suite of pathway, preparatory and outreach programs, students can explore university study, build academic confidence and develop the skills needed to pursue their future goals without leaving their local community.

Whether students are taking their first steps towards university, returning to study after time away, or seeking an alternative pathway into a degree, regional campuses and study centres provide access to supportive, locally delivered learning experiences designed to meet students where they are.

Located in the heart of the Limestone Coast, the Mount Gambier campus provides local students with a direct pathway into university study while remaining connected to their community, family and employment commitments.

Students can access both Foundation Studies and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pathway Program through a supportive face-to-face learning environment. With small class sizes, personalised academic support and flexible study options, the campus offers a welcoming entry point for school leavers, mature-age students and those returning to education.

Mount Gambier students can build the knowledge, confidence and academic skills needed to progress into a broad range of Adelaide University degrees.

The Whyalla campus creates opportunities for students from across the Upper Spencer Gulf region to begin their university journey locally.

With strong pathways into health, education, business, engineering and science disciplines, students can explore future study options while developing the academic foundations needed for undergraduate success.

The campus offers access to fee-free pathway programs, study support services and a connected learning community that helps students transition confidently into higher education. Whether taking the first step after school or returning to study later in life, students are supported throughout their learning journey.

Based at the Port Lincoln Study Centre, Adelaide University Pathways College provides local access to university preparation programs for students across the Eyre Peninsula.

The study centre has been established to support regional learners who want to pursue higher education while remaining connected to their local community. Students can access Foundation Studies and the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pathway Program in a supportive and flexible environment, with guidance from dedicated academic and student support staff.

Port Lincoln students benefit from personalised learning, strong community connections and clear pathways into undergraduate study across a wide range of disciplines.

The Ceduna Study Centre plays an important role in expanding access to higher education opportunities across the Far West Coast. Delivered in partnership with local facilities, the centre provides a community-based learning environment where students can undertake university pathway studies close to home.

The Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Pathway Program is particularly important in supporting First Nations learners to engage with university education through a culturally responsive approach that values local knowledge, community and cultural identity.

Students studying in Ceduna have access to academic support, mentoring and flexible pathway options that can lead to further study at Adelaide University, helping create new opportunities while staying connected to Country and community.
