DR Stranks Travelling Fellowships 2022
Applications are now open for the 2022 DR Stranks Travelling Fellowship.
Established in 1987 following an endowment with contributions from the State, the University, professional colleagues and friends, the postgraduate travelling fellowships commemorate the services rendered to the University by Professor D R Stranks AO, Foundation Chair of Inorganic Chemistry 1964-1973 and Vice Chancellor of the University 1977 to 1986.
Providing assistance for travel outside of South Australia, applications must be submitted by 30 September 2022 in consultation with the Principal Supervisor for travel within the next 12 months.
Eligibility:
Students must:
- be enrolled full-time in an approved research higher degree at the University of Adelaide
- have been enrolled for more than 12 months at time of travel
- provide reasons why research cannot be undertaken at the University of Adelaide
Applications will be assessed based on:
- academic merit as well as other factors, such as
- the essential nature of the travel to a scholar’s research project and
- the likely benefit to be derived by the scholar and the University.
Please note, the fellowship will not be awarded:
- to students who are in their first year of candidature, or their final year of candidature
- where travel is not relevant to the research they are undertaking
- where the request relates to conference attendance or conference presentations
- where applications are retrospective
- to international students requesting to travel to their home country
