Physics Careers Fair : A Huge Success!
Last week, we hosted a highly successful Physics Career Fair, thanks to the collaborative efforts of volunteers, partnering companies, guest speakers, and enthusiastic attendees. Local representatives from Ziltek, GenesisCare, Minelab Metal Detectors, Inovor Technologies, Shoal Group, and Fleet Space Technologies were instrumental in guiding attendees on their career paths.
Celebrating Diversity & Community at IPAS
IPAS’s Science Network Committee brought together the institute’s diverse community through a lively and inclusive potluck event. Organized by Chris Perrella, Lisa Haerteis, and Tiffany Tan, the gathering was a resounding success, with members contributing dishes from around the world.

Located on the ground floor of the Physics building at the University of Adelaide, these upcoming world-class facilities will be cornerstones of our research infrastructure for quantum materials and device fabrication facilities. These laboratories are crucial additions to the Centre for Quantum Materials and Quantum Technologies (CQMQT), furthering our commitment to pushing the boundaries of quantum science and technology.

Yesterday, the University of Adelaide’s Optica Student Chapter hosted a captivating lecture in honour of the International Day of Light, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of science enthusiasts. Dr Sarah Scholten Secures Funding for Next-Generation GPS Technology
Dr Sarah Scholten from the School of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences received $392,000 in funding as part of the Australian Research Council (ARC) Early Career Industry Fellowship sheme for her project, Quantum Clock for Assured Global Navigation: Global Positioning System 2.0.

IPAS with the Australian Centre for Quantum Growth
An $18.3 million federal grant led by the University of Sydney to establish the Australian Centre for Quantum Growth has just been announced. The University of Sydney led the successful consortium, which included the University of Adelaide via IPAS, along with most of the major Australian research universities and leading commercial quantum companies.
