An Act to provide for the care and protection of children; and for other purposes.

2 Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act 2016 (SA) 

An Act to minimise the risk to children posed by persons who work or volunteer with them; to provide for the screening of persons who want to work or volunteer with children; to provide for a system of accountability for persons working or volunteering with children; to prohibit those who pose an unacceptable risk to children from working or volunteering with children; to provide for a central assessment unit to undertake screening of persons who want to work or volunteer with children; and for other purposes (commencement to be advised).

Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Regulations 2019 (SA) 

Pursuant to section 6(2) of the Act, Regulation 7 specifies that education services considered to be child-related work includes preschool, primary and secondary education, but does not include tertiary education.

1 Privacy Act 1988 (Cth)

An Act to make provision to protect the privacy of individuals, and for related purposes.

Note: Currently, there is no South Australian law on Privacy. However, the University adopts the National Privacy Principles (NPPs) under the Commonwealth Act. The University is also contractually bound to abide by the NPPs under many funding agreements from Commonwealth agencies.
