2023 AV Asset Refresh Project
The AV Asset Refresh project has identified priority common teaching areas for upgrade during 2023. This activity will be occurring across the North Terrace, Roseworthy, and Waite campuses.
De-risking Microsoft Office Macros
Recent events have shown us the very real risk cyber-attacks pose in our sector. Keeping our University’s devices and their confidential contents safe is of utmost priority. Microsoft Office macros will soon be blocked on University-managed computers across all versions of Microsoft Office, except for cases where there is a demonstrated business need. This will reduce the risk of data breaches and increase protection against malicious software.
Enterprise Relationship Management
The University has implemented a new Enterprise Relationship Management (ERM) solution, built on the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform. Implementation of the solution is one of the key strategic enablers for the University’s Digital Future Technology Strategy to help support its growth targets.
Cyber Security Framework
The UofA Cyber Security Framework (CSF) is a set of technical security standards that IT custodians (may be internal or vendor to whom you have outsourced remote management) must understand and comply with, and cover topics such as security of data, network, endponts, and third party risk management. A subset of standards have now been published, with more to follow.
New Microsoft Teams Launching Soon
Microsoft will be releasing a new and upgraded version of MS Teams globally starting in Quarter 2 of 2023.
Service Status Migrated to MyIT Portal
The Service Status page will be migrated from the ITDS website to the MyIT portal on 11 April 2023. The new Service Status page in MyIT will provide staff and students more detailed information, and a more efficient way of reporting outages in instances where it affects multiple people.
Securing your mobile devices
Regular updates are released by device manufacturers and software developers to fix bugs, address security vulnerabilities, and introduce new features. They are designed to improve functionality while ensuring the device remains secure. Please keep your devices up to date so personal information and sensitive data are protected against potential threats.
Kofax Platform Outage - OKTA Implementation
Kofax will be unavailable from 5:00pm on Friday, 24 March until 12:00pm on Sunday, 26 March. During the outage, OKTA multi-factor authentication will be enabled on the platform. This will further help protect our data and systems from unauthorised access.

Be Wary of Uploading Sensitive Data to ChatGPT
Many University staff are using ChatGPT for both work and home tasks such as research, problem solving, and writing. Please be wary of inputting sensitive or confidential data, such as student personal information or commercially sensitive data, into the application as the platform does not guarantee security of such data.
