Introductions

I have always dreaded self-introductions but here goes....(author, Yasmine)

I am a new blogger on What messes with your Head? and I am going to give you a little bit of insight into who I am and what I am hoping to do.

Who am I?

So, my name is Yasmine, I am an undergraduate student studying politics and human geography. I really enjoy getting into the nitty gritty of what makes us humans click and hope to one day be involved in foreign policy.

What am I doing here?

The things that are really important to me are community, being active in the outdoors and learning from others. I am an interstate and regional student so things in Adelaide were pretty daunting for me when I first arrived, and to be honest still are at times. I miss my crazy siblings and the tropics and have struggled to make a lot of friends in Adelaide.

I think that we have all struggled a bit with loneliness, making friends and feeling isolated at university, especially during Covid-19. I know that these experiences are really difficult to overcome but I am hoping that by sharing a little of my own experiences, I can give others a sense of comfort and support.

What has been my best student experience?

So many of my favourite experiences at university have been during volunteering or when engaging with events on campus. A particularly fond memory is making a Western film with some friends over mid-semester break.

Here is to sharing some weird, sad and joyful experiences with you!
