Things To Do in December 

I’ve compiled a number of things that you could do in Adelaide to kick off your summer break this December.

So you don’t have to wake up at 8 am for classes anymore and your textbooks have been listed on Facebook Marketplace and StudentVIP, now what? Summer break is loooong and working/interning can only do you so much. I mean, everyone has to enjoy the summer heat once in a while, right? 

The French Dispatch Opening Night

CALLING ALL TIMOTHEE GIRLS! CALLING ALL TIMOTHEE GIRLS! Oh, and film bros/lovers of the Wes Anderson-verse can tag along too. Palace Nova Cinemas in Eastend and Prospect are hosting an opening night and screening for the anticipated Wes Anderson movie “The French Dispatch” on the 9th of December.

StudyAdelaide’s Christmas Garden Party

This 3rd of December, grab some of your mates and head down to the grounds of the Government House for an evening of Aussie BBQs, games and entertainment to get you in the Christmas spirit. I’m super excited about this one because I’ve never been to the Government House so you’ll definitely catch me there at the party!

Blue Planet II, Live in Concert

Picture this: You’re lounging on the lawns with some delicious food and company, BBC’s Blue Planet is playing on the huge LED screen in front of you while the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra serenades you with Hans Zimmer’s mesmerizing scores. All this is happening live. How lush is that? It’s giving very much Blair Waldorf if she was involved in the marine biology scene instead of NYC’s dramatic high society.

Board Game Bash

If you’re a board game enthusiast, head down to the City Library in Rundle Mall for an afternoon of fun and board games. There will be a range of new games and the classics available for you to challenge your friends to (and if you wanna go solo, the library’s pro board gaming staff will be there to join you too!).
