Holidaying in Adelaide
When interstate and overseas travel may be difficult or expensive, a little getaway right in Adelaide is perfect.
Last weekend, I went to stay in an Airbnb in Encounter Bay with some friends. Since there was a group of us, the cost was relatively inexpensive: we only paid around $100 each for the accomodation, and split the petrol costs for the drive over. Though the weather was less than ideal, being able to spend quality time with my friends was exactly what I needed.
We played board games, cooked food, and stayed up late talking. We also enjoyed the sights of Encounter Bay, Victor Harbour, and Port Elliot, albeit in the rain! Though the trip was not packed with activities (we were all pretty familiar with that area), the best part was just having dedicated time to hang out and play games, without the worry of studying, working, or other commitments. I had a moment where my friend was asleep on the couch, I was cuddled up with a book, and my other friends were playing a card game, and I thought to myself, 'now this is peace'.
Booking an Airbnb is a perfect way to have a mini holiday with your friends, family, or loved one, without all the added stress and price of a bigger trip interstate or overseas. There are so many sights to see in Adelaide, that we typically take for granted! Victor Harbour is often overlooked by Adelaideans, but so many of us have never walked along Granite Island or checked out the nearby beaches.
But even if you are wanting to stay in and just eat food or watch films, an Airbnb is a great opportunity to stay somewhere nice whilst also letting yourself take a break. Scheduling a small getaway is perfect to let yourself chill and have a good time. Which is exactly what I needed!
