Mobius Assessment is an online testing tool specifically designed for mathematics-based courses and STEM more broadly.
It is integrated with Canvas and can be used as a flexible alternative to Canvas quizzes.
It supports many question types including algorithmically generated questions that can call on an embedded Maple engine. It also elegantly supports units (e.g. students can give an answer in W, kW, MW...) and correct rounding to significant figures.
This workshop will provide a broad introduction to Mobius for Course Coordinators of maths-based courses in any discipline.
Existing case studies from the University of Adelaide will be shared, followed by a hands-on session to set up a Mobius quiz and begin authoring questions.
The case studies, presented by academic colleagues from ECMS, will showcase a variety of formative and summative assessments including design elements to mitigate academic integrity issues in an open book, online environment. We will start from the very basics but for those wishing to skip ahead, there are plenty of resources on the DigitalEd YouTube channel and website.
