Community poll: Share and see the many ways we are engaging in partnerships in a global pandemic

We are all navigating the COVID-19 global pandemic in our own unique ways. Learning and teaching online has become the new normal, but finding innovative ways to engage in student-staff partnerships online has been a little more challenging.

In an effort to combat this challenge the Students as Partners (SaP) Community of Practice Network has designed a tool to enable students and staff to share stories of and perspectives on engaging in pedagogical (learner-teacher) partnerships in the context of COVID-19.

A community poll is now available, providing real-time, live results.  This channel is an excellent way to connect and share, to stay in touch using a simple online platform.

Share your views and stories here: Learner-teacher partnership in times of COVID-19: A community poll to share practices and perspectives

Read the stories and perspectives from the community here: Live Results from the community poll

Over a dozen people have already shared stories in the last 6 hours. Stories and views that show there is no one way people are experiencing partnership *at a distance*.

If you are looking for resources specific to supporting online partnership practices, you will want to check out the live results as some members have shared specific references.

Five potentially interesting items to note and know about:

  1. Hold the date of 28 August 2020: Our annual SaP Roundtable will not be in person at Deakin in Melbourne as planned but plans are underway for a potential virtual event
  2. New blog posts on SaP and Global Learning here
  3. There is a wealth of new research being published on SaP and here is a quick glance of some 2020 scholarship
  4. The International Journal for Students as Partners (IJSaP) is seeking book/event/resource reviews (800 words) - student authored reviews very welcome (email me if keen)
  5. For twitter users, keep up with #studentsaspartners #SaP #westernsap hashtags (as a start)

University of Adelaide staff are invited to join this Network or contact Kelly Matthews (SaP Network Coordinator) for more information.
