Mornings are the best

I would like to take a minute to celebrate mornings. Not any particular morning, but all mornings. Morning is, in my opinion, the best time of day. Often we rush through mornings, barely noticing how wonderful they are.

I love mornings because I always feel better after having slept. I love slowly waking up and my brain floating from the dream world to the real world. Sitting with a cup of tea, I can contemplate all the plans and possibilities for the day ahead of me. Mornings are full of promise. My brain is it's sharpest in the morning, and I love the satisfaction of being able to get some small task done before the world starts moving.

Mornings hold ritual and routine, regardless of how chaotic the rest of my day might be. There's a shower, a cup of tea, and some breakfast. Even morning foods are delightful. Eggs. Tomato. Beans on toast. Cereal with fresh fruit. Pancakes.

The world looks its best in the morning. The sun catches on dew drops and streams through windows. The air is fresher in the morning, having recovered from the previous day's heat, bustle, and smog. Mornings are quiet and peaceful.

As we approach late morning, things begin to go downhill. The business of the day takes priority. Mental fatigue and pessimism begin to emerge. The day is filled with people and problems, and the peace of the morning drifts away until tomorrow.

Disclaimer: As I'm sure you have guessed, I am a morning person, and as such this post is heavily biased towards mornings.
