Birthdays in lockdown

Since the lockdown started we've already had a few birthdays. My dad, my older brother and my partner's birthday. As a tradition, we normally try to find an activity to do like going to the movies, a park or going out for lunch. Unfortunately, that hasn't been possible this year so we have opted for low key celebrations at home.

Buying Gifts

Buying gifts isn't as easy since Covid-19. Shopping online is limited and a lot of things are sold out or low on stock. Not to mention the carbon footprint of all the online shopping and the waiting time. With this in mind, I've been trying to go for gifts that are online savvy such as audiobooks and subscriptions.

Doing activities

Doing activities isn't possible for birthdays but we've been trying to make some fun at home. We cook a big special dinner and cake and all sit outside with a heater. For Mum and Dad, it's a good opportunity to get lots of chores out of us. It'a also a time for us to get creative and come up with games and ideas to entertain each other and have some fun.

Packages for Friends and Family

Being distant from friends and family means a phone call and posting gifts are the only ways to bring the birthday spirit to them. For some upcoming birthdays of friends and family, I've been trying to go all out on some awesome packages. Going crazy on chocolates, gifts and colours not only makes me feel fulfilled but hopefully makes their birthday some what memorable during these crazy days.
