Expertise

Dr Gibson leads an internationally renowned research team focused on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms that regulate function of the uterus, and how these can become dysregulated in common reproductive disorders.

Collaborative research project

In collaboration with University of Adelaide researchers, Dr Gibson will investigate how androgen inhibition leads to poor pregnancy outcomes. The collaboration involves investigating how androgens alter immune mechanisms required for placentation and establishment of pregnancy.

This collaboration will also address the significance of male partner seminal fluid in provision of androgens to the female reproductive tract after coitus.
