Professor Julian Higgins

University of Bristol
Expertise
Professor Higgins’ research expertise lies in evidence synthesis – the process of identifying, appraising, synthesising and interpreting the totality of global research evidence in relation to a specific research question.
Collaborative research project
Professor Higgins’ visit will facilitate collaboration on two key projects:
- Evidence synthesis taxonomies: the goal here is to build on the Evidence Synthesis Taxonomy Initiative (ESTI) and formalise a conceptual taxonomy of evidence synthesis approaches; and
- Systematic reviews of prevalence studies: working with the Prevalence Estimates Reviews – Systematic Review Methodology Group (PERSyst), the goal here is to develop a tool to assess risk of bias in prevalence estimates and a reporting guideline for systematic reviews of prevalence.
