Grading by Question in SpeedGrader

MyUni New quizzes have a new feature that makes the grading process more efficient. You can now grade one question at a time, thus allowing you to focus on a particular question, and grade it for all students before moving on to the next question.

This new feature is useful for large classes where more than one grader is involved or when having to grade multiple quizzes regularly. With the ability to grade one question at a time, you can easily navigate through your quiz submissions and assign accurate grades without getting distracted by other questions and scrolling through the quiz page for each student to find that question you want to grade first.

The grading by question feature helps improve the reliability of marking. When you focus on one question at a time, it is easier to apply standard marking criteria for consistency and accuracy of marking. This also helps you identify which questions were unreasonably challenging or confusing for students and revise them for future quizzes.

This feature was enabled on 15th April 2023, for all MyUni users when using New Quizzes. We encourage you to try it next time you grade a quiz.

New Quizzes Share Item Bank to Current Course Checkbox

Question Banks and Item Banks are similar in function but there are key differences between them. Question Banks are tied to a specific course and cannot be easily shared with others. It only works in the Classic Quiz format. Item Banks are tied to the user and can be used in any course that the user is listed as an instructor in and can be shared with other users. Item bank works in New Quizzes.

Previously, when you shared an Item Bank with your current course, you had to manually add each question to your quiz. With this new feature, you can now share an entire Item Bank with your current course in one simple step. This feature saves time and effort while creating quizzes, especially if multiple instructors are collaborating within one course to create quizzes.

This feature was enabled on 15th April 2023, to all MyUni users when using New Quizzes. We encourage you to try it when creating Item Banks.

To learn more about how to access this feature, please watch this short screencast video. (1:24 minutes)
