Join us for an engaging, thought-provoking, and lively conversation as we dive into the entrepreneurial world of Indian cinema with Dr. Rajeev Kamineni, Academic Director at the University of Adelaide Business School and author of Indian Movie Entrepreneurship: Not Just Song and Dance.

Dr. Kamineni’s book challenges the stereotype of Indian cinema as merely “Bollywood” and explores the business dynamics that drive this diverse industry. With extensive experience in financing and producing Indian films, he offers invaluable insights into the entrepreneurial spirit within the Indian movie industry, its regional hubs, and evolving distribution models. Time: Doors open 5:30pm for a 6:00 pm start. 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm conversation, followed by light refreshments.

Since 1985 Alison has worked at the BBC, Film Australia, ABC, SBS, been an academic, an independent producer and is a foil and epee fencing coach. She has produced, written and directed documentaries, docudramas and commercials on subjects ranging from bullying, refugees, ASD, Alzheimer’s to learning Italian. In 2019 Alison established Shining Catalina Productions with filmmaker Anne Tsoulis. In 2022 their documentary The Silent World of Barry Priori screened on ABC TV; won Best Documentary Short Audience Award, Anchorage International Film Festival, was selected to screen at 9 other international film festivals and won an Impact Doc Award. Recently Alison was selected to represent Australia at the World Veteran Fencing Championships in Dubai, 2025 and Daytona 2024.
