The Australian Research Data Commons (ARDC) provides up to date guidance on good data practices, data management plans, provenance, versioning, publication and citation, and many other relevant practices on their Researcher Hub.
Online courses
Managing your Research Data is a comprehensive online course that helps you prepare, organise, analyse, keep, and share your digital research data. While the module is designed primarily for research students, sections will be useful for research supervisors and researchers new to the University.
For HDR students: the course attracts 3 CaRST credits upon completion and the uploading of a data management worksheet. The worksheet forms the basis of your Data Management Plan, which is due at 6 months and at completion of your candidature.
Understanding your role as a Data Steward is a 30 minute online course that can help you understand your responsibilities under policy as a research data steward, and includes links to tools and services that can help you at all stages of your research.
MOOC: Using clinical health data for better healthcare
This course provides insight into the use of healthcare data, including an overview of best practices and the practical realities of obtaining useful information from digital health systems via the understanding of the fundamental concepts of health data analytics.
