TRIAL - Newsbank

NewsBank

As part of our trial, we have access to both the Access World News: Research Collection (the world’s most comprehensive full-text news resource) and Image Editions.

Access World News: Research Collection

With text-based access to over 11,000 Australia and international newspapers – over half a billion news articles – this unique, online resource supports a wide range of academic disciplines, including political science, journalism, English, history, environmental studies, sociology, economics, education, business, health, social sciences and more. Access World News: Research Collection includes full-text content from more than 570 Australian newspapers, from major titles such as The Australian, The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, and The Advertiser, alongside dozens of daily, weekly and Sunday titles, as well as hard-to-find community, regional and rural titles.

Image Editions

We also have access to Image Editions which are the full digital replica for selected major newspapers from Australia, including The Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, and The Canberra Times. All Image Editions are full-text searchable using OCR technology. They are also cross-searchable with NewsBank’s flagship text-based collections, including Access World News: Research Collection.

NewsBank offers a Learning Centre on their YouTube channel, which features a range of video demonstrations on how to use the database.

The trial is active between the 26th March and the 21st May 2019 and can be accessed here.
