Exercise: gym, walking & home workouts

Two runners running on rocky dirt track in forest.

I was recently gifted a Fitbit which I really appreciated because I owned one a couple of years ago. I found it useful to track the sort of exercise I undertook during the week, and my sleep habits! So, I am keen to go back to tracking as it’s a gentle reminder for me to get more active and sleep earlier. How do you incorporate active minutes in your day-to-day life?

Learning to accept mistakes

Crushed ball of paper

As I near 25, I’ve been reflecting on the chapter of my life that’s my early twenties – a time filled with successes and (quite a few) mistakes.

My go-to smoothie recipe

Raspberry smoothie

Drinking a smoothie is one of highlights of my morning. It’s a healthy start to the day and provides lots of energy! While I am a fan of cafe smoothies or a cheeky boost juice, I often make my own at home (thank you to my trusty nutri-bullet)!

Burnout: hey, hey, my, my

Breakfasts around the world

Breakfast brioche

Ahhhh winter’s here. Although I’m seriously missing the long summer days, winter has always allowed me this special time to re-discover the joys of a slower daily pace. The freezing early mornings are ironically a wonderful time to get the blood running with a workout. It means a late breakfast which tends to come in the form of a brunch.

A new book? How frightening

I love reading, I always have, but the problem I have with it is that I find it really difficult to leave the comfort and safety of teenage and young adult fiction. I find the romance of YA fiction to be idealistic and thrilling – the way characters are swept off their feet, the improbable meet-cutes, the aspirational promises they make to each other…I’m a huge softie, it’s true. I also love fantasy, but the adult fantasy is just so weird sometimes. Thankfully, I can always rely on good ol’ teenage fiction to bring me the joy of magic.
