18 more underrated luxuries

Following the challenge set by Maddie, I have written my own list of underrated luxuries.

I find myself forgetting about the positives in my life quite a lot, which is why I really love Annabelle’s idea. The idea of focusing on things that might seem mundane but are actually underrated, everyday luxuries. So, here’s a list of things from my life that I really appreciate and are worth more to me than caviar and champagne:

  1. Pretending you have telekinesis when walking through automatic doors.
  2. Knowing someone else is thinking of you.
  3. Cold pizza.
  4. Cherry season.
  5. Singing along to music in the car.
  6. Waking up on a weekend, and then remembering you can just go back to sleep.
  7. Providing bad commentary on a movie with a friend (and being sure that you could have both gone into stand up comedy).
  8. Being a regular at a shop.
  9. Friendly banter.
  10. The point when one of the four seasons changes into another, and you’re reminded of all the things you have to look forward to.
  11. Being able to sit back and let your mind go blank.
  12. Coming home after being away (for any length of time).
  13. Listening to the buskers in the mall.
  14. Walking on the beach in bare feet.
  15. Looking at the stars.
  16. Scrunching up paper and chucking it in the bin like you’re playing basketball.
  17. Having someone naturally smile when they see you.
  18. Ticking things off a to do list.
