18 more underrated luxuries
Following the challenge set by Maddie, I have written my own list of underrated luxuries.
I find myself forgetting about the positives in my life quite a lot, which is why I really love Annabelle’s idea. The idea of focusing on things that might seem mundane but are actually underrated, everyday luxuries. So, here’s a list of things from my life that I really appreciate and are worth more to me than caviar and champagne:
- Pretending you have telekinesis when walking through automatic doors.
- Knowing someone else is thinking of you.
- Cold pizza.
- Cherry season.
- Singing along to music in the car.
- Waking up on a weekend, and then remembering you can just go back to sleep.
- Providing bad commentary on a movie with a friend (and being sure that you could have both gone into stand up comedy).
- Being a regular at a shop.
- Friendly banter.
- The point when one of the four seasons changes into another, and you’re reminded of all the things you have to look forward to.
- Being able to sit back and let your mind go blank.
- Coming home after being away (for any length of time).
- Listening to the buskers in the mall.
- Walking on the beach in bare feet.
- Looking at the stars.
- Scrunching up paper and chucking it in the bin like you’re playing basketball.
- Having someone naturally smile when they see you.
- Ticking things off a to do list.
