Serotonin from dumplings

Dumplings

By the time you read this the Oz Asia Dumpling Market will have finished, but it 100% deserves some recognition and a shout out.

Deplorably, this year was my first year attending the Dumpling Market held in Elder Park. But I made up for this by attending three times whilst it was on. Eating dumplings gives me so much serotonin!

I grew up eating my mother’s homemade dumplings so perhaps I have an attachment because it reminds me of my childhood. And now having moved out, I crave dumplings all the time. Disappointingly, I can’t make them—but I have found these incredible Asian grocer dumplings which have been my go-to when I haven’t prepped a meal. However, I can make an amazing black vinegar and chilli dipping sauce.

Dumplings are easier to find than you might think! Woolworths & Coles always have frozen dumplings. Perhaps you can try out your local Asian grocer. Or maybe a dedicated dumpling restaurant like Dumpling King!

Food has such a powerful impact on my mood. Once I’ve eaten some good dumplings, I feel happy, safe and ready to take on the world. What’s your comfort food?
