About ORCiD
ORCiD is a nonprofit organisation helping to create a world in which all who participate in research, scholarship and innovation are uniquely identified and connected to their contributions and affiliations, across disciplines, borders, and time.
The ORCiD community includes individual researchers, universities, national laboratories, commercial research organisations, research funders, publishers, national science agencies, data repositories, and international professional societies, all of whom have been critically affected by the lack of a central registry for researchers.
