I am delighted that through the hard work and dedication of many, we can now welcome our students back to campus. I know your planning is well advanced to teach our students in person, or in online classes for our students offshore. As we kick off our Orientation for international students today, and our Orientation week for all, next week, it is really pleasing to know that already almost 1000 international students have re-joined us on campus.

New look Library Essentials
Library Essentials is an online course designed to teach students the fundamentals of finding, using, evaluating, and acknowledging information in an academic environment at their own pace.
New TEQSA resources for AI
TEQSA is continuing to work with the sector to strengthen cultures of academic integrity within higher education and to reduce the integrity risk posed by commercial academic cheating services.

Effective ways to support student skills assessment
Last year the University piloted a student employability skills self-assessment with over 2,500 students completing the online quiz. We discovered that our students felt positive about their problem solving skills, working independently and interacting with people from different cultures, but were less confident about their presentation, networking and time management skills.

Facilitating student engagement with WIL
WIL is becoming increasingly common in the Australia tertiary education landscape. However, not all students find it easy to secure a WIL placement or to take time off from paid work and afford accommodation/travel to complete one.
New members of the AEA in 2022
Established in 2016, the Adelaide Education Academy (AEA) aims to promote, support and recognise teaching excellence across the University of Adelaide. AEA membership is by application only, with expressions of interest open from October each year.
