Refurbishment at the Barr Smith Library

Starting Monday 5 August 2024, the northern ends of Level 1 and Level 2 of the Barr Smith Library will be closed for refurbishment. This is phase 2 of the Library's refurbishment project, which includes installing new furniture, upgrading toilet facilities, and creating a brand new entrance on Level 1, opening onto the Barr Smith Lawns.

Despite the closures, the Reading Room and Atrium will remain accessible via the northern stairwell. Alternative study spaces can also be found on the southern side of the building. Level 2 remains a quiet study zone, while Level 1 is a collaborative study zone.

The Main Collection (000-399) will be accessible by request through Library Search, or you can contact Ask Library for assistance.

The refurbished areas are expected to reopen in October 2024. We look forward to welcoming you back into new and improved study spaces!
