Level 3 of the Barr Smith Library is now open 24 hours a day, so you can study in the Library (or at least a part of the Library!) when you want to.

Semester 2 is a very exciting time of year for the library, with our brand new Level 1 of the Barr Smith Library finally opening its doors today!

The Barr Smith library has recently introduced a change to our building access in the evenings which will align with Hub Central after-hours access and will also help improve security on campus.

As part of the Level 1 south refurbishment currently taking place in the Barr Smith Library, the study wedge on Level 1 will also be closed to access from today.

Temporary changes to accessing Special Collections

The redevelopment of Level 1 means that Rare Books and Special Collections will be operating out of a temporary new site on Level 2 of the Barr Smith Library as of Monday 6 November 2017 until mid-2018.

The transformation begins – Barr Smith Library redevelopment

Barr Smith Library

The transformation of the Barr Smith Library is about to commence, with two major building works projects starting in November: a complete refurbishment of the southern end of Level 1 to facilitate the move of the Elder Music Library into the Barr Smith Library, and a smaller joint Hub Central – University Library project to improve signage and wayfinding on Level 3.
