Re-reading Harry Potter

Everyone always says how good they are, how they are even a classic, but when was the last time you read the Harry Potter series? For me it has been years and to be honest, I don’t all remember that much how they were written and all the little details of the books. So I’ve decided to re-read them and try to see what impact it has on me now.

At the moment, I’m already suckered in. I go to bed promising I will only read ten pages and the next thing I know I’m 25 further into the book. It makes you realise all of the interesting and arguably important details that the books contain and the movies lack. That being said, I think the films did an amazing job to selectively choose what needs to be put in and left out, there is so much!

It’s not only Harry Potter that I’m keen to read again, but also some other classics form my childhood, Roald Dahl! I think re-connecting with literature form your childhood/adolescence is a great way to see how you’ve changed, to see if the impact of a book is still the same on you or to see if you understand more or missed things before.

What books do you miss from your childhood/adolescence? What have you been reading in lockdown? What’s on your reading to-do list?
