Skin Health Checks

The University of Adelaide is offering a limited number of skin health checks to continuing, fixed-term and casual staff.

These appointments are now fully booked.

Sun protection is vital at every age. More than 90% of skin cancers are caused by exposure to the sun. Remember, together with sun protection, early detection is your best defence against skin cancer.

On-campus skin health checks are provided by Better Medical (previously Adelaide UniCare) at the North Terrace campus. These appointments are for a SKIN CHECK only. The examination will take approx. 10-20 minutes and will be solely focused on looking at your skin.

Payment is to be made in full on the day. A Medicare rebate will be processed on the day of your appointment with a valid Medicare card. The University of Adelaide will reimburse $25 of the out of pocket gap. Evidence of a receipt will be required.

Dr Paul Bolton may recommend further treatment. This will be charged privately and does not form part of the Skin Check promotion through the University of Adelaide.

If you attend a skin health check with Better Medical you have an option to seek a $25 reimbursement (to assist in covering the Medicare gap) through the University’s finance system, KOFAX.

You will need to retain a copy of your receipt and attach it to the KOFAX reimbursement form where prompted in the system.

To seek a reimbursement if you have paid for your skin health check yourself, follow the step-by-step instructions available via the finance website.

Please note, the above options do not extend to family members and students of the University (other than students who also have a casual contract).
