HSW Stakeholder Consultation - Drone Safety Management (V2.0)
The revised HSW Handbook Chapter “Drone Safety Management” has now been posted on the HSW Website.
The chapter sets out the responsibilities to ensure that:
- University drone operations are only conducted with the approval of the University’s Chief Remote Pilot, in accordance with the Unmanned Research Aircraft Facility (URAF) requirements and the conditions of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA);
- the risks from drone related activities are managed to prevent an injury to drone operators and the general public; and
- the University complies with the requirements of the Civil Aviation Act, the Civil Aviation Safety Regulation Part 101 and the University’s Remotely Piloted Aircraft Operator’s Certificate.
