Join the HR Branch in a series of education sessions titled “Casual Engagement Essentials”. If you are involved in the management of casuals, these sessions will provide information about our obligations and various strategies we can use to support our casual workforce.

Attendance is strongly encouraged for anyone who is a time sheet validator, including the processing of escalated time sheets, and supervisors of casuals, but is open to anyone involved in the casual engagement process. Feel free to forward this information to any other managers, administrative staff or supervisors in your area who may be interested.

Timesheet Validation and Minimum Engagement

Have you ever wondered if there is more to validating time sheets than clicking approve or pushback? Have you had a casual that records time that doesn't meet minimum engagement and you're not sure what you can do?  Come along to an interactive session where we will cover our employer obligations and provide strategies in managing casual time sheet validation.

Casual contracts and Casual Conversion

Have you ever wondered when a casual can claim conversion? Join this interactive session about casual staff rights and entitlements to conversion.

If you are involved in the management of casuals, this session will provide information about our obligations and various strategies we can use to support our casual workforce. Through real-life scenarios, we’ll explore when you might consider fixed-term or alternative employment arrangements. We will also explore when a casual would be eligible to claim continuing employment, the reasonable operational grounds for declining conversion and when they apply.

We will finish the session with a quick overview of casual contracts and how they work at the University.
