HSW Stakeholder Communication – HSW collaboration with other organisations (New chapter)
Following a recent discussion at the HSW Community of Practice, it was identified that there have been instances where the University and another organisation have a collaborative project and arrangement in place, but the responsibilities for HSW have not been clearly defined at the commencement of the project. This becomes problematic during day-to-day operations and especially in the event of a re-portable incident (e.g. a Notifiable Occurrence), as neither party may have clear understanding of whom is responsible for what components of safety.

This Safe Work Month, SafeWork SA are raising awareness on managing the risks associated with Elevating Work Platforms (EWPs). Three information sheets have been created to assist workers operating this machinery.

A new national guide for Working with silica and silica containing products provides information about controlling the risks of exposure to silica dust when working with silica and products containing silica. This includes information on hazardous activities such as drilling or cutting rock, concrete, brick, etc.
