Net Zero Geomodelling Laboratory
The Net Zero Geomodelling Laboratory will enable students to learn about contemporary environmental research and geological modelling from staff with specialised skills and knowledge.
Project detail
The University of Adelaide is at the forefront of GeoEnergy research, education, and training in Australia, playing a crucial role in cultivating highly skilled geoscience engineering graduates. Bolstering its position, the university has secured funding to establish state-of-the-art experimental facilities, dedicated to addressing national priorities in energy security, emissions reduction, and future fuel research. A key focus includes actively engaging with the public, particularly schools, to enhance understanding of subsurface H2 and CO2 storage.
The Net Zero Geomodelling Laboratory will be a multi-purpose learning space with a focus on research, tertiary education and secondary school outreach programs. Staff will also be able to provide short courses in specialised techniques to a broader range of users both within and external to the University, as well as participate in relevant research projects.
The interactive and flexible lab will be located in the Engineering South building adjacent to the recently delivered Engineering Teaching Laboratory.
Expected completion is February 2025
