Roseworthy Small Animal Research Facility

A new Biosecurity Containment level 2 lab for small animal research will support the research of an Academic Veterinarian in the Faculty of Sciences, Engineering and Technology.

Project detail

A major refurbishment of the currently underutilised Breakwell building will allow for the creation of a BC2 laboratory to support the research of Professor Kapil Chousalkar. Recent grant funding has allowed Professor Chousalkar to acquire seven isolators for poultry research, and this project provides a laboratory unlike any currently available at the University. The facility includes room for the isolators, wash up and ante rooms and will be supported by standalone mechanical plant and a back-up generator to ensure animal ethics requirements are met.

Expected completion is April 2025
