Roseworthy Small Animal Research Facility

Breakwell Building East to be upgraded to provide a PC2 lab for small animal research.

Project detail

An upgrade to the currently underutilised Breakwell building sees the creation of a PC2 laboratory to support the research of Prof Kapil Chousalkar. Recent grant funding has allowed him to acquire seven isolators for poultry research. This project provides a laboratory unlike any currently available on the university’s campuses to facilitate this research. The space includes room for the isolators, wash up and ante rooms. The facility is supported by standalone mechanical plant and a back-up generator to ensure animal ethics requirements are met.

Expected completion is March 2025
