Ray Last Laboratory Refurbishment
Operational efficiency will be improved in the Ray Last Anatomy Laboratory to facilitate concurrent teaching and back of house functionality.
Project detail
The Ray Last Laboratory currently provides the core teaching facility for anatomy at the University and supports the operation of a state-wide body donation program with the highest donation rate per capita in Australasia.
The layout of the existing space makes it difficult to have concurrent teaching between the North and South labs, whilst allowing for preparation for subsequent classes or processing of bodies.
This project aims to overcome this issue and others, while maintaining the current footprint, allowing for free movement between the two teaching spaces when in use.
The Surgical Skills teaching lab and ‘back of house’ body preparation/storage areas will be reconfigured while supporting services works in the existing plantroom and a new plant platform to the rear of the building will be improved.
Expected completion is March 2025
