Quantum Materials MBE Lab

The Quantum Materials - Molecular Beam Epitaxy (MBE) Laboratory provides a dedicated facility for quantum materials device fabrication at the North Terrace campus.

Project detail

The project involves refurbishment of existing laboratories within the Physics building ground floor and the creation of the MBE Laboratory, along with specialist support laboratories and cleanrooms.

The facilities support industry relevant post graduate degrees in materials engineering which have links to the space industry, medical technologies, defence, manufacturing, energy, and telecommunications.

This project expands on previous investment in quantum materials equipment and facilities for the Schools of Physical Sciences and Electrical and Electronic Engineering.

Expected completion is December 2024
